2015 Mustang Celebration: Vaugh Gittin Jr. Makes the Donuts at Hoonigan HQ

Last night after I went out to Venice Beach to check out the 2015 Mustang, I swung by the Hoonigan shop in downtown LA to hassle my buddy John Naderi—who’s been globetrotting with Ken Block—about doing some writing for me.

The folks from Ford had brought the 2015 Mustang over there as well, but in what’s quickly becoming my signature move, I left my camera’s memory card in my machine—so I don’t have any decent pics of the new Pony there. To be honest though? It was more of a zoo at the Donut Shop than it was at the beach, plus the lighting was worse, so you’re not missing anything regarding the 5.0.

But I did manage to get a pretty good video of drift ace Vaughn Gittin Jr. turning circles around a brave photographer in his Ford Racing Mustang RTR. I left the beginning on this clip so you can see them chat about the shoot, and see the part where JR says “I can’t kill ’em.”

For the record, I’d like to note that this is exactly the kind of thing that can go wrong easily. But I’d like to remind any haters that Gittin Jr. is a professional driver and not some kid in his Dad’s car.
