Virginia City Hill Climb 341 Challenge In A GR40 Cobra: Insane Video Inside

Here’s an in-car video of a supercharged Griggs GR40 SN95 Cobra tearing up the Virginia City Hill Climb. In case you’ve never seen the infamous video, turn it up and enjoy! The driver, John Griggs himself sure knows how to wheel his supercharged and well prepped Cobra up the mountain pass! For those unaware of the Virginia City Hill Climb, it’s a one-of-a kind on-road race up a 5.2 mountainous mile stretch of route 341 in Virginia City, Nevada. That’s right, kinda like Pikes Peak, but completely paved (of course that’s paved now, too) with high speed sweepers, tight hairpins and corners without a guardrail or runoff (look at the pic above). It takes some nerve to run it flat-out!

In addition to the insane course, I really like the high rpm power of the centrifugal blown mod motor and I especially love the tight spread of the gear ratios! Listen to it, the sucker never falls out of the powerband!

Enjoy!
