Throwback Thursdays: 1987 MotorWeek Mustang Review
When it comes to historical automotive moments, the Mustang has racked up quite a few over the past 50 years, which always makes it a natural for Throwback Thursdays.
This week’s tribute to the Ford pony car’s past comes from the team at MotorWeek in the retro video below, reviewing the ’87 Mustang. And while the car only sported a few refreshed features that year, MotorWeek’s old-school take makes them a lot more interesting.
“The Mustang lives” is one of my favorite lines from the video, as it takes note of the fact that at one point it was thought that Ford’s icon might fall victim to high gasoline prices.
The clip also opens with a review of the ’87 T-Bird, which offers yet another interesting take on the period. But considering we are all about Mustangs here, feel free to fast forward to the 4:31 mark for this Thursday’s real Throwback.
