The Last True Shelby: The Signature Edition GT500 Super Snake
It’s time to say goodbye to the outgoing Shelby Mustang, and Shelby American wants to send the last generation off with a bang and more horsepower than Carroll could have possibly imagined.
According to Shelby American, the company will offer just 50 Signature Edition Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snakes to honor the last Mustang GT500. The last generation of Shelby Mustangs will always hold a special place in the Mustang community, since it was the last Mustang that Carroll Shelby personally signed off on before his death.
The Signature Edition Super Snake will come with a 3.6L Kenne Bell Supercharger, Forged Weld Wheels, a new radiator for better cooling, upgraded rear brakes, and a track day experience. Horsepower is said to be around 850, but you can get a lower amount if you’re scared of all that might. I’ll tell you that 850 horsepower in any car is absolutely mind-numbing.
Shelby American states that the price for the upgrade will be $45,000, not including the cost of the GT500. But, for literally the last of a dying breed of muscle car, that’s a steal.
