Well, now there is even more good news for you 2015 Mustang owners: It looks like, despite Internet advice to the contrary, the wheels of your S-197 may actually fit your new ride.

But what will they look like, you ask? Look no further than The Mustang Source’s forum to find members showing off their old S-197 wheels on their new Mustangs.

Member kn7671 posted his findings first, proudly displaying that his Ford Racing GT500 wheels from his 2014 GT worked perfectly on his 2015 GT. His wheel sizing is 19×9 +40 (6.6-inch backspacing) front with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 in 265/40ZR19. The rear is a 19×10 +51 (7.6-inch backspacing) with 285/40ZR19.

This actually makes a bit of sense, though. The stock 2015 Mustang Performance Package wheels are 19×9.0 +45 (6.7-inch backspacing) and 19×9.5 +53 (7.2-inch backspacing). Kn7671 also found that the 2014 Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) sensors worked on the 2015 without programming. That could be huge money savings for 2015 owners looking to do the swap themselves, as they won’t need to reprogram or even get new sensors.

Member Anthony k also reported that his old track wheels worked on his new 2015 Mustang. His Eagle Alloys from his 2008 Mustang GT California Special also fit his 2015 Performance Pack. While he didn’t provide the offsets, his front wheels are 20×8.0 and the rear set are 20×10.0. From what I can tell, I wouldn’t be surprised to read that they are also around a +40 front and +50 rear offsets.

Have a 2015 with S-197 GT500 or an aftermarket wheel?
