I’m in love. No, I really am because this 700-plus-horsepower Hennessey Mustang is about as sweet as they come.

Equipped with a Roots-style supercharger running 7.25 psi of boost, the limited-edition Hennessey creation packs a V8 with 632 lb-ft of torque, and a bump of nearly 300 horses over the standard 2015 5.0 Mustang.

The HPE700 also features a new stainless-steel exhaust, uprated fuel injectors and pumps, an ECU flash, masses of engorged carbon-fiber bodywork, and custom Hennessey lightweight 20-inch alloys. Other details include Hennessy premium floor mats, serial-numbered dash and engine plates and “Supercharged” exterior badging.

Even better, Hennessey’s latest spin on the Ford pony car clocks a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. If you’re considering owning one, you’ll want to act quickly. The Texas-based performance company is only building 500 units of the 2015-model-year Mustang, and they’ve already started taking orders for the car.

Is Another Ford GT in the Works?

Hold the phone, hold the presses, hold my hand! Ford is rumored to be bringing back the Ford GT next year.

According to Road & Track, Ford is gearing up to bring back both the iconic racecar and road car to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GT’s first victory at Le Mans. We told you about Ford possibly coming back to Le Mans back in June, but our sources said they were just considering using a modified Daytona Prototype to compete in the P2 or P3 class of racecar. Now it seems Ford has a much more ambitious program.

A Ford representative was recently spotted at the Circuit of the Americas for a GTE constructors meeting. GTE has no affiliation with the Prototype class, and is all production-car-based. Unless Ford is planning to bring the Mustang to Le Mans, which is doubtful, the rumors of the GT’s return could be very real.

When the representative was questioned about the return of the GT, he gave a pretty long-winded answer that divulged nothing, but he didn’t say no. He pretty much said he could not speak about future products, which means it’s definitely either being talked about, or it’s already a done deal. We will have to see.
