Mustang Ranks as the Top Sports Coupe in the World

If you drive a new Mustang, then here’s one more thing to brag about as a proud owner.

Yup, of all the sports coupes sold last year around the globe, sales for the new Ford Pony car beat them all, according to USA Today.

There’s something for Camaro fans to chew on.

In 2015, a total of 141,000 Mustangs were sold with roughly 19,000 of those going to people who live abroad. The biggest demand for the car outside of the states was in Europe, where 16,000 Mustangs were sold. And despite all that earlier buzz about the EcoBoost model, it appears that the V8 is still king of the hill.

The GT variant that comes equipped with the higher output engine was the most popular Mustang sold last year.  Of the 141,000 or so Mustangs sold in 2015, about 30,000 of them were convertibles.
