Hot Drag Strip Action: Mustang GT500 Faces Off Against BMW M5

When will these import guys ever learn?

Here we’ve got a drag race video from Road Test TV that shows a 700-hp Shelby GT500 lining up against a Dinan-tuned BMW M5. Maybe I don’t have to tell you guys who won this particular race, but it’s still fun to watch. The base BMW should only be producing around 575 horsepower, but that Dinan tune has obviously cranked that number upwards.

As it sits the two cars are matched almost perfectly all the way down the strip. At the 1/8th mile the times are 7.710 for the M5, with the Mustang just barely behind with a time of 7.719. That’s the the last time the BMW held an edge.

Make sure to check out the video and share it with your friends. I’m sure they’ll enjoy it too. Just keep it away from those Euro fanboys. We don’t want them to get too discouraged; they might stop showing up to get embarrassed at the strip.
