Mustang GT 5.0 Makes Clarkson’s Top Ten

Whether you love him or hate him, Jeremy Clarkson has a lot of pull in the automotive world. His recent top-ten list of favorite cars he’s driven this year includes a bit of a surprise, though: the Mustang GT 5.0. It slots in right alongside other excellent machinery, such as the Alfa Romeo 4C, the Mercedes AMG GT-S, and the Lamborghini Aventador.

What does he have to say about the ‘Stang? Well, he says it’s a “machine that wants to turn tires into smoke and go around every corner sideways.” Looks like he perfectly understands it. The Mustang has a different perception in Great Britain, it must be said. They have narrower roads than we do, and the Mustang is perceptibly larger. What isn’t large is the price tag. In England, you’ll pay more for a Golf GTi than you would a 5.0 GT. Plus there’s the appeal of rarity. The S550 chassis is the only right-hand-drive model of Mustang specifically made for the English market. It offers huge value for the money, great performance, and makes people smile when they see it. If you want to dive deeper into his review, read it here, then let us know what you think.
