‘Motor Trend’ Rolls Out Some of it’s Mustang History

The celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang is turning up some pretty cool old memorabilia for the iconic sports car.

A lot of it is coming directly from the offices and studios of the Blue Oval in Dearborn, Michigan, where Ford is headquartered. But some others, such as “Motor Trend,” are digging into their crates to share some past pieces of history tied to Ford’s beloved pony car.

The 64 year-old auto magazine is highlighting 87 covers featuring the mustang from 1964 to November 2012. The list includes everything from a 1968 cover with the headline “A Closer Look at the ’69s” to an August 2012 tribute to the legendary Carroll Shelby.
