New Performance Features, Particularly Its Royal Rumble, Are Much More Alluring Than the New Look

Most of us have had a chance to weigh in on the design of the 2018 Ford Mustang. So now let’s see what you think about the sound of the car’s new active valve performance exhaust system.

The optional feature allows 2018 Mustang GT owners to adjust the sound of their exhaust. And they can make it sound a lot more menacing than the previous GT model.

Of course, if you’re shooting for a milder sound to keep your neighbors happy, the new system is capable of being adjusted for a softer exhaust note as well.

These two video clips don’t actually allow us to hear what the new Mustang sounds like at full throttle, though. But you definitely get a good sense of what the 2018 ‘Stang is capable of when you crank up the exhaust system’s “soundtrack,” which is designed to provide each owner with a unique audible experience.

Other performance features of the new ‘Stang include updated shock absorbers for all models, which offer better overall ride control. There’s also a stiffer rear suspension system and innovative stabilizer bars for sharper response and handling. Not to mention the availability of a new 10-speed automatic transmission, available for both the EcoBoost and the V8 model.

Despite the fact that we’re really not huge fans of the new Mustang’s design, it’s pretty clear that we can’t give a full assessment of the car until we’ve spent some time behind the wheel.
