5. Fox Body Mustang

These were made from 79-93. People love these Mustangs for just how easy they are to modify. The body style is very boxy and they were the smallest Mustangs of any generation. The Fox Body stands out from all the other Mustangs and many enthusiasts consider them to be a stand-alone model. They don't seem to share all the same characteristics as their predecessors and successors. A variety of engines ranging from a 2.2 L I4 to a 4.95 L V8 are available. You can pair these with a manual transmission in either 4 or 5 speed. Also available is the 3 or 4 speed automatic transmission.

1. The Original Mustang

Technically the first Mustang produced was the 1964 1/2. It was released early in April of 1964. They were labeled as 1965 Mustangs, however there were small changes made when they released more of the 1965 models in the fall. The early production models are very rare. This Mustang tops them all because it was the one that started it all. It came with a 170 cu in V6 with the option to upgrade to the V8. The Mustang was an instant hit, it was Fords best selling car since the Model A. This car is a huge part of automotive history.
