Hertz to Kick Off Shelby GT-H Rentals Memorial Day Weekend

You just can’t beat the power of public demand.

Okay, so we might not have any official numbers on how many people have actually been begging Hertz to bring back their Shelby Ford Mustang GT-H “Rent A Racer” program. But the general consensus around here is that most folks would love the option of renting a 435-horsepower Mustang for a day or two, or seven.

Then again, actually landing one for that weekend getaway will probably take some serious pre-planning, even at a price of $399 a day. The availability of the gold racing-striped Shelbys, which begins this Memorial Day Weekend, will be limited to roughly 140 cars at 17 Hertz airport rental places nationwide, as highlighted in a USA Today report.

That said, chances are, if you’re were hoping to rent one after that flight into Wichita, Kansas this weekend, you might be out of luck.
