Fox Body’s Twin Prochargers Prove One Is Not Enough

Excess, as it seems, is never enough. When it comes to feeding air into an engine, this Fox Body deploys twin Prochargers to give it the air it needs. Apparently, this is the way to go, as it sweeps the competition aside.

At the Import vs Domestic finals of the Haltech World Cup at Maryland International Raceway, the competition at times was close. The first race was separated by just two hundredths of a second. That’s right, a 6.45 wasn’t enough to take on this Mustang, which put down an impressive 6.43. Launches win races, and that’s evident by the trap speed. Even though the ET was close, the trap speed of the Mustang was 197.05. The “slower” car was at 216.51.

This sets the tone for the remaining races, with the 1/4 mile being completed in the mid-6s, and close competition all night long. That’s much more fun to watch than someone getting trounced, in my opinion, especially when some of the races have big money on the line. When that competition is fierce, you have to be innovative. The saying “there’s no replacement for displacement” might be true, but it looks like throwing on a pair of Prochargers sure helps.
