Which Cat-Back Exhaust w/No Drone?

What is the general consensus on after-market exhaust systems? H-Pipe or X-Pipe conversion? My biggest concern is interior drone and wasn't sure if one design is better over the other at eliminating, or at least limiting, the 2000 RPM interior drone. Thanks!!!

I think the issue with Drone has been eliminated by the Exhaust companies on their high end products that aren't Race ready. So most any high end medium volume system you select will work without driving you crazy. The real issue seems to be whether or not you are looking for low or high tone, and raspy or non raspy note. If you're looking for the loudest systems will you even notice if they drone?

Roush Axle back with Boss Quad Exhaust & H Pipe... No Drone here. Was good even before the Boss addition.

I went with the Borla S-Type axle back. Absolutely no drone with it. Not too loud, not too quiet. It will ultimately come down to personal preference, but really happy with Borla.

I have the MBRP Street with the H-Pipe. I did an 8000 mile road trip with absolutely ZERO drone.

I also have the Borla S-Type Cat Back system. It's fantastic! Loud when you step on it and quiet/growling when you don't. No drone on the highway. You can't go wrong with that setup. I'm sure if you search for videos online of that system on the car, that will give you a great idea of what it sounds like. Good luck with your choice.

I really like the Borla Stingers. I had them on the Mach1. I put FRPP GT500 axle backs on the GT and they sound great, not quite loud enough though.

I had the GT500 mufflers on my '14. In my opinion the best sounding exhaust for the GT. Does anyone know how difficult it is to make them fit on the '15+?

I put my money where my mouth is.
Bought Kooks catback system 3" street H-pipe to connect to factory 2.5" cats.

Kooks #11514401 I installed them on Monday. That was a lot harder on jack stands than it is on a lift. Anyway without ever hearing them in person I am happy with my choice. The Bass note from the idle is super low. Then when getting on it inside the car you can hear it but it's not loud enough to record on a my iPhone. I tried it twice, I can hear it when driving but the iPhone mic won't pick it up. As for drone you get nothing while cruising the highway. But on the street if you just gradually accelerate like a Grandma it does drone at @1250RPM, but only there. Driving in Sport+ I got no drone at any RPM.

Before driving it yesterday and today I thought Sport+ was nice with the little exhaust note the stock system has. With the Kooks its like there is a new side of the car I never knew before. I don't know if it will change as it breaks in but I'm enjoying it now.

They are not for everyone, being the among the highest priced non-active, non-quad tip catbacks on the market. But the polished tubes and mufflers look so nice, and they are 3", that's large. The only problem I have so far is not being able to get both mufflers aligned, the tips aren't symmetrical.

Outside the car the startup is nice. I doubt you'd have much of a issue with neighbors at 5:30AM. I am going to try to upload a vid to YouTube to link here.

Edit: 8/18. After driving for two weeks I can say now there is no real drone. It is loud in the car if you lug the engine, that is 6th gear around town, less than 45mph. The solution is to down shift to 5th or 4th and the pipes quiet down. On the whole it is quieter now that at install. Totally acceptable around town and on the interstate I don't notice it much anymore. Kooks H-pipe catback is a real winner for the S550.

Corsa sport

I love my Corsa Sport. I have used Borla before but Corsa wins hands down in my
book.

What year is your GT? I had the GT500 mufflers on my '13 and loved them, but they don't fit the '15+. I'd be interested in your if they've been modified for the current car.

I have Flowmaster American Thunder cat back dual exhaust installed on my 2016 GT. A big step up from the stock exhaust. Not obnoxiously loud, but a great growling sound on my Hennessey Supercharged 718 hp motor.
