Has anyone bought weather tech mats for the boss and if so, would you reccomend it? Also, is there a clear coat touch up for the rims? There's a few rock chips through the clear on one of the wheels. And lastly. Any recommendations on getting a spare? For long trips I'd like to have a spare and possibly one of those little racing jacks instead of those stupid scissor jacks.

I have had the weather tech floor liners for awhile....they fit nice and protect the carpet. My son has the husky liners in his car, they are a softer plastic that the weather techs.....but both fit well and I don't think you'd go wrong choosing either one.

As for a spare, it was posted on Track Mustangs Online that a original Boss 302 wheel in 19X9.5 with a Kuhmo 255/40/VR19 would fit in the spare tire well with no issues. You wouldn't be able to fit a floor jack in there, but could just have one in the trunk. I haven't tried it yet, but I will before my next trip....never liked having a can of "fix a flat" and a air compressor in the trunk in place of a spare tire.

Lloyds makes a clear textured mat custom cut for the Mustang that I put on top of my factory Boss 302 mats, and they look quite nice and fit well. They were less than $40.The gray color of the mat shows through so they are not real obvious. I got a spray can of 1K urethane spray clear at my local auto paint store. If you spray 1/8 " in the well of the cap it will stay thin and liquid so you can add very thin layers and avoid the blobs from trying to use the little bottles from the auto parts store.

For what it's worth, I enter a lot of shows and attend numerous weekly cruise nights, so I keep a spare set of virgin GT logo mats in the trunk and lay them on top of the regular mats when I display the car.

A spare is a great idea that I haven't picked up yet. I keep a jack, tire plugs and installation tool in the thing the compressor is in. I figure a plug won't mess up the tire pressure sensors, is easy to install, and safe to drive on until I can get the tire patched properly. Granted, a plug won't fix a sidewall puncture or anything that isn't a puncture.

I ended up just getting weather tech. They arnt the last word in style but made in USA by Americans with American materials kind of sold me on it.
