Battery change

Howdy I'm a new guy here,
Just changed my original battery on a 2007 Shelby GT500, which has less than 2500 original miles on it.
After I changed the battery the red battery annunciator light come on. What did I forget to do?
Thanks,
Michael

It is possible to get a bad battery

Maybe you just got a bad (or sitting on the shelf expired) battery.

Take it to you local AutoZone if you are able to drive it and have them check the battery AND the starting system (first test is car off, second is car running) that should help determine the status of the charging system, it could be as the previous posts said, the battery is just past it's prime, but this will give you a for sure answer instead of guessing.

Be sure to double check electrical system issues if the battery is testing good. Something might be drawing excess power.

I had the same problem!!!
On my 2008 There are two wires that hook to the positive post. The pos cable & and a smaller wire. The guy at the dealer forgot to put the small wire back on. When I left the shop my Check battery light was on. I returned, and they found the lose wire after a few minutes.. Hooked it back up. no problems since... Hope this helps and it's that simple on yours......

PS also do a search on google. Several people had problems with diodes going bad in the alternator. same symptoms.
