I'm so bummed. I couldn't order the lava exterior ad my dealer couldn't find a single one on his data base when I bought mine but between Mexico and LA he found 1 V6 with the Lava interior. I love it. Gotta say it really makes the car stand out better than the plain black interior. Never got a chance to see the other in riots except the tan .

For sure. I even had a buddy of mine who's super into BMWs and Audis tell me my interior looked better than the new 3 series and A4. I like what Ford did. Bummer they don't have it anymore. I'm hesitant to get any of the newer models now lol

Lava Red is a sweet color, i'm partial to metallics. have any of you taken pix alongside a Kona Blue or Sterling Gray Metallic? if so please post. another deep hue Ford offered not too long ago (but not on Mustangs) was Green Gem, which at times can be mistaken for black but pops under direct sunlight (the last pic is of a Green Gem SHO).

I am a proud owner of a lava red GT w/ brembo and electronics package.
I will post pics later when I get to my home computer. i will admit I thought the car was black when I bought it and ALMOST took it back when I figured out it wasnt...sure am glad I didn't.

Love my lava red
I bought my 2012 Lava Red Stang when I was in Lousiana March 2011. Fell in love with it. The car dealership couldn't find the keys to it for me to test drive. I told them I wanted it anyway and they said they would make a key for it the next day. Well, they didn't have to make a key.... They were looking for the keys to a BLACK Mustang. Lol. I have been in Texas now since I bought it 4 years ago and I have only seen ONE other in lava red! Would love to post a picture but don't know how yet!!!

I still get kinda sick when I think too long about the day I traded off my Lava Red GT.
I'll admit to swapping vehicles way too often... but that's the only one I still regret. I've still never seen another Lava Red in person, and you can't turn your head in the San Antonio metro area without seeing a Mustang.

Got me a 5.0 lava red 8,923 original miles . Beautiful car I love it
YES - You missed seeing it in all lighting conditions. In full sun. Under partly cloudy skies. In shadows of trees. Under lights in a garage even. The beauty of this color is in it's ability to transform throughout the day - even from side to side. One moment you have a dark, almost black, car, the next a peculiar brown, the next a stunning dark red sparkle. I've had strangers stop by my house after seeing it parked in the driveway and ask me where they could get this color (and that's after I'd moved it back to the garage - out of sight for several days).
Loving my lava red
