Yes..The Steeda S197 Jacking Rails fit the Boss 302

When Steeda announced a new set of jacking rails for the S197 platform I asked if they would fit on the Boss 302 with the factory side exhaust. Steeda responded on the forum (the original post is in the vendors section) that they didn't know as they had not attempted a test fit on the Boss 302. During subsequent conversations with Steeda, specifically Tim and Frank I was sent a set of the new jacking rails to determine if they would fit or not.

Upon receiving the jacking rails I found the quality and construction of the jacking rails was excellent....its almost a shame they will be under the car and not seen by anyone. I installed the jacking rails this morning on my 2013 Boss 302 without any problems and didn't have to do anything other than what was shown in the instructions. The rails fit tight to the underside of the car and will make it much easier to jack up.

I want to thank both Tim and Frank for making this possible....as those of us with a Boss 302 know, the rear jacking point is right where the side exhaust exits and causes a few problems when jacking the car up...these rails address that issue perfectly.

I've attached a picture showing the relationship of the rear of the rails to the side exhaust....if I did it right that is....if not, all you have to do is look under your car and find the two existing bolt holes that are about even with the back of the door...this is where the rear of the rails bolts into and is nowhere close to the side exhaust

do you have the part # from steeda so i know its the same one?

Sent you a pm about the rails....order the Steeda rails for the S197 chassis...not the S550. They are on Steedas website.

Just an FYI but if you are running any aftermarket side pipes, these may not work. The Kooks bigger, Boss 302 side pipes are mounted a bit further back which will not allow for mounting the Steeda jack rail.

I'm pretty sure they are super easy to install, just a couple bolts on each side

I wish I had bought these when they first came out and were on sale, price has gone up a bit . . . I keep waiting for another sale but so far none has come

so i read the instructions and says you have to lift the whole car to install. i dont have a lift so this might be harder than expected. i messaged TJ at steeda to see what options i have and what i can do. anyone else with suggestions? should i have to worry about the front suspension brace falling off the car (when i unloosen the 2 bolts)?

You can install on jack stands. If I remember correctly, it didn't me much more than an hour to install on my 2011.

I did mine with the car on the ground. It was like 10 minutes a side.

Was that bad?

BTW, these are a seriously nice piece of kit and VERY handy to use. Highly recommend.

i guess my only concern was getting the 2 bolts out from the front suspension brace and having the whole thing fall down on me, which i guess that will not happen, i know they say you might have to pry the part away to slide the jacking rail in but i wasnt sure how that would affect the car or change the position of the brace in the front.
i have a set of no-flat ramps i can set the car on, that will give me some more clearance needed to bolt everything on. i should be ok right?

You will be fine. I lifted one side at a time and put on stands. The front brace falling shouldn't be a concern.

so i put these on over the july 4th break and i will say that yes it was a bit easy, but hardest part was getting the front brace up and the jacking rail to slide in was a pain in the butt! i think that was the hardest part of it, and the bolts up front were VERY hard to get out and in, very tight....but it looked like some blue loc-tite on them from the factory....
i guess i should have put some back on but i just put them in. my shoulders were hurting for 2 days after installing these, if they work as well as the ones on my '15 GT then i should have no problems jacking this up
