What don't you like?

I have three nit picks.

1-Why the hell is there a 16 gallon gas tank instead of at least an 18 or 20? I hate filling up, even though it is only like $60, and seeing 275 till empty! This could have been a deal breaker...

2-I know the tach is the real dial of choice for muscle cars, especially stick shift muscle cars, but I like to see how fast I am going too. The speedometer is in a **** poor location, and hard to read. If it was angled a bit, it might be better and easier to read.

3-Not sold on the whole capless gas tank...

If you genuinely want to know what I find lacking in this car I'll tell you. And it isn't the tank size or the instrument locations. You are correct, the most important gauge is the tachometer; screw that one up and the engine is toast (well, thank goodness for rev limiters at least......). The rest is muscle memory, remember where the speedometer is located.........

The only two things that I am not completely satisfied with are as follows:

1. The field of vision in the side view mirrors. The '05-'09's had a significantly wider field of vision and I never felt like I wasn't seeing something on my rear quarter panel. In this car I get nervous about that. My issue isn't with the width of the field of vision, but rather the height of the field of vision.

2. And to be fair, this is about the Ford Racing tune not the initial programming (which I dislike for other reasons). I don't like the "Lopey Idle". I disable it every time I start the car (and, no, I never use the silver key, ever). The lopey idle is too inconsistent and feels like something is just not "running" properly. It doesn't behave like an old-time high-lift cam, which would be very consistent. It feels like an intermittent mis-fire instead. Opening up the side exhaust satisfies all of the aural needs I have.

That's a pretty short list compared to the short-comings of my 2007 GT500!

Probably because those mirrors were three times the size.

I agree with the visibility issue, but my problem is not with the mirrors, but when I look out the driver's side to change lanes, the height of the Ricaro seats blocks the little window, and makes it hard to see out.

Dave,

The driver's side side-view mirror is where you be should looking for this maneuver. From experience on track (which does translate well to public streets regarding safety issues), the time it takes to turn the head far enough to look backwards is too long. A quick glance to the mirror should tell you everything you need to know.

The quarter windows are great for merging to the right though! My daughter's Terlingua has black-out panels there, and I sorely miss that view in her car.

Yeah, I use the mirrors but there is always the chance of someone being in the blind spot, so I like to look out the windows just to be sure. I do not need to change lanes in .0749 seconds, so I like my method.
