I just took mine into the dealer this morning for the same issues shifting into 4th. The 4th gear synchro is bad. They are now saying the parts are backordered until July. Deysha, could you possibly help me as well? I'd very much appreciate it.

Deysha, I'm having trouble getting into contact with my ford rep. Wendy is who I spoke to. I was told my parts would be here in two days, that would be today. My dealership said no parts arrived. I tried calling my rep at her extention, left messages. She never called me back, I called her several times.
This is becoming a very big nuisance. Please can you help me?

This whole deal is making me want to look into the 6th Gen camaro coming out soon. Being ford didn't do anything to fix the trans issues with the s550.

If they're on back order, they're on back order. It's likely a supplier issue and not completely Ford's fault. I've worked for several automotive parts manufacturers, it happens...machines go down, QC issues happen, sometimes a week's worth of parts get contained and put on hold because there is evidence a few bad ones slipped through. There is only so much that can be done to expedite the parts and only so many people get lucky. The new Camaro is going to look very similar to the current one. If you're down with styling that dates back to 2006 on a brand new car, go for it...

Also, I'm down with having a performance car that doesn't requires hundreds of dollars in after market parts to shift right. Also not having to worry about synchros blowing up because the clutch ford put in the trans can't take the 7500rpm shifts that a boss shifts at.

Man I'm sorry to pile on but you're right that sucks and inexcusable in my book. No one should be out of their car for that long especially while ford continues to build man trans 15's. Back order bologna bull crap...... To be out of a two or three year old car like yours for four to six weeks is just plain not acceptable.

My dealership contacted me. My advisor said he pulled some strings and is getting the part pulled and shipped the 15th of this month. The deal the Ford rep wasn't accurate and never really came into play. My dealership service advisor apologized for that run around.
At least I know a REAL date now. Yes they have offered a free of charge rental.

I know it sucks to be without the car, but at least they provided a rental. Sometimes there is only so much that can be done in some situations. Hope it gets fixed quick. Let us know how the trans is after it gets fixed

Understandable, but latest gen Camaro has had it's fair share of reliability and quality issue as well. Given the 6th gen is a totally new platform I would not be surprised if it has it's fair share of issues.
It's the age old question..."Is the grass really greener over there?"
