YELLOW blaze 2011 here, with major paint defect.
So it looks like Ford tried to fix a defect on my roof. The sanded through the clear and color, exposed the primer, and didnt put enough color back on. I am in talks with Ford, and it looks like they are going to buy it back. The whole roof and parts of the doors and pillars would need to be repainted, and no local body shops want to attempt this color. If they buy it back, I will order a 2012 grabber blue premium with brembos and 3.73s. My car is a base GT with brembos and 3.73s.

I dont want it fixed. Those body shops said that the rear glass and wind shield would need to be pulled, and the factory seals broken. All the roof mouldings would need to be replaced and the whole roof painted. Not to mention, it will never match the whole car. Hell, the ford rep said that most blaze yellow cars off the line dont match eachother. I asked a total of 8 body shops if they would be interested and they all said no thanks. The director of service from my dealer talked to one of the best body shops in IL and they said to send it back. I suggested that they paint the roof gloss black like the boss and give me a free FRPP whipple blower for my troubles. My attorney said that this was not out of line because of the diminished value. Well we will see what Ford decides next week. If they dont replace the car, they will have a fight on their hands.

Then bring on the new one! Will they give you that Whipple for the new one? After I hope they give you the deal of all deals! Kinda sounds like although this sucks, maybe you'll be OK? This still blows.

I'm not sure its a good idea to keep the car even if they give you a bribe. I mean, what happens when a shopping kart bumps it or hail where PDR can't fix it or bouncing freeway debris?
I think this is why there are so few of that color ordered and why locally, the dealer order YBs were a tough sell.
Consider yourself lucky to get out from under it.

I've never been crazy about YB, especially after seeing it in person and under different lighting. Looks too mango colored in the shade. But honestly, it sells about as good as grabber blue. There were less YB in 2011 only because it wasn't available until Job 2. My wife has a 2011 V6 MCA in GB, and it looks great. OP should follow through with the "buy back", that way Ford will return every penney paid, including loan interest. There's uusally a deduction for mileage, but that is negotiable. Ford may also offer a replacement vehicle (a 2012), even one that is slightly more cost, but LOL, no whipple.
