I still don't get why people still get grumpy when anyone questions some of Shelby's marketing ...like taking Ford parts and calling it a Shelby. The last real Shelby mustang rolled off the assembly line in 1967... any time someone goofs on the whole legend of Shelby we must have a defender

Definitely not upset about it, yes I would do the same. I'm just teasing the fact that Shelby would endorse anything. Peyton Manning is the same way but it doesn't change the fact that he's a great qb

With the IRS on the next gen Mustang, it makes more sense to keep it as an SVT brand. If SVT is doing the work, let them put only their name all over the car. I'd rather see a SVT cobra from Ford and send the Shelby name to stay with the aftermarket company.

Yup, I guess Ford didn't sell too many terminator cobras. I'll bet there are still tons of them new sitting on Ford lots because they don't say Shelby on them.

That is not entirely accurate. The 2003 cobra was the best selling one they made. The sales dropped in 2004 for two reasons 1. Ford intentionally reduced the number of units made after selling about 13000 in 2003. 2. Ford had already released info about the next Gen mustang and initially reported that an svt version of the 5th Gen car would follow six months after the initial 2005 launch. I was one of those that passed on a new 2004 cobra because I wanted a 5th Gen svt mustang only to learn that it wouldn't be available until the 2007 model year with huge adms. In recent years gt500s have seen markdowns just like cobras. The 2003 cobra was as successful in sales as the 2007 gt500

Needs to be more Astony
There were 10844 07 GT500s and 13476 03 Cobras. And its only a matter of time that the Cobra name is more sought after than the Shelbys.
People like me that were born in the 80's care more about the Cobra name than the Shelby name. Soon as the Shelby people get too old and the buying power is with my generation Ford will be smart to change back.

The SVT cobra and Gt500 are pretty much the same car. Just different names. I can't imagine some one looking into getting a high lowered mustang being turned of cause it doesn't say SVT cobra. Even though it does say SVt.
