ok ok, i really did love it, but was it enough to consider trading or adding to my garage?
2015 GT Deep Impact Blue with the Performance Package, Manual and Recaros.
I took the car out for a 30 minute test drive. The salesman did indeed come with me but I knew way more about this car than he did (he was only working at this Ford dealer for 3 weeks, coming from a KIA dealership). Needless to say I asked him to cut the chatter and let me play
Pros:
Telescoping steering wheel was a nice touch. The recaros are TO DIE FOR. I could care less about electric seats in exchange for these babies
The BRAKES were amazing. First couple minutes were a bit umm, fingers on the dash if you were the passenger. But i quickly got the hang of the Brembos. The PP suspension is nice. Cornering, launch and braking all felt pretty good. I found some good hidden twisties in the city that the salesman was taking notes on for future use
The exhaust note from the Ford Racing pipes was very nice. Very much like my quad gt500's.
The engine performed admirably! I quite enjoyed the acceleration and the 3.73's. Launching from 2nd was even fine too. It felt similar to mine with the 93 performance tune. It did pull a tad better than mine for sure.
stuff that makes me go 'meh'...
The nav is same as my truck, so it's nice but i never need it in my car. The stereo sounds nice. The rest of the gadgetry was nice too, but the little flicker levers feel out of place. I would've preferred more sleek dash and control center.
The shifter was meh. ok. Felt better than mine for sure.
Stiff i didn't care for:
I don't like those black spoke wheels. Detailers nightmare. The stock stance of the car seems heavy in the rear. on some it's very pronounced. This one sat flat. I prefer a tiny bit of rake. I don't care for the hood, nor the wraparound headlights. The GT PP grills are nice looking though.
Overall the looks of the car grabbed me at first, but not enough to say 'gotta get one'.
Still my impressions overall were really good. I can see myself getting a coupe one day if the Porsche dream evaporates.
Compared to mine?
Well my suspension has been substantially upgraded and i enjoy it. My car feels amazing with it. I plan on a BBK someday to give me that grabbing sensation. My stock seats SUCK compared to the '15 recaros, but i may get a set for mine one day. Essentially, with a couple more improvements mine will fill the bill WITH the look i want.
Does this mean i thumb my nose at '15 drivers? HEII NO! I think this is one helluva car and if i didn't have my '13 I'd have driven THIS one home.
With some cosmetics the '15 in DIB could be my dream car in the 50k range.
Alas, my agent is away in New York so i got away with mine and a fun experience in the '15. If he'd been around the story might've been different LOL

I dunno Darren....you almost had me convinced until you posted that last pic. Then the images of the DIB 2015 left my head. Your car is approaching iconic status around these parts.
But the bigger question.....would Tag approve?

I also test drove a 15 GT and was.... meh. It drove nice and had really good accelaration but I really did not care that much for the exterior styling. It felt like a sports car rather than a muscle car. Your car looks great and I think in the end you made the right decision.

I currently have a 15 as a rental. Meh... I am not impressed.... It's a premium EcoBoost, and I am not complaining about the Engine, but the rest...
Suspension is fine, but the interior and Styling? I was expecting a lot more... A little bit disappointing...
Nice car, but after all I read, I thought it was a much better...

Thanks Alex, I appreciate the compliment.
As for cdn $ price, yeah our cars cost more up here. It's a fact o life. It's never been a big deal to me. Alot of us don't ever pay sticker. My last ford i bought for 14,000 under list.

They had a deep red with PP that i really liked, maybe more than the DIB, but it sold too. It showed up at local car and coffees with black stripes. Looks beautiful but i still hate the stance they come with. I'm ol fashioned that way i guess. I like to see a little bit of rake.

I would consider the S550 if it wasn't for the exterior styling. Maybe they'll make it look more like a Mustang for 2017?
Darren, your S197 makes that S550 look like a toy. Your car is absolutely stunning.

IMO, those black wheels are turrible. OEM's need to STOP putting black wheels on cars. Leave that up to basically everyone in the aftermarket who is in with that fad.

The 15" Brembo brakes have to generate even more dust since the pads are larger. Shiny wheels would no longer be shiny before you even get to 1/2 tank. Skinny spoke dark wheels are a good way of hiding brake dust.

They are selling them pretty fast out here. I see one being prepped and delivered once or twice a week.
