That car's body line still has a slight sweep up at the hips. Maybe I'm missing it in the renders, but it doesn't look like the Mustang has that sweep up. It looks a little more level. I do love the hip flare on the renders, but also think coupling it with a slight sweep up looks best. Slowly I'm getting over the lack of a curvy body line or crease, but a version of this body line would look sweet on the 15:
The DB-9 IMO just looks more like a luxury sports coupe, where as the Aston-Martin Vanquish has those curvy hip lines that give the appearance of having a lower beltline and looks more muscular like a sports car.. I really like the full fastback profile most of all as well..
I'm hoping this is what Ford has in mind for the actual S550 production model or at least somewhat close in design with the Vanquish

I couldn't agree more with you Brian.. As the straight hip line on the latest render along with the Aston-Martin DB-9 just doesn't look aggressive enough..

I kind of have a feeling Ford will give us that curvy crease, but it won't be till the 1st refresh of the new design. Just like they did with the 2010 refresh. You know they're already thinking about what to fire back with when the next gen Camaro comes out. If Chevy goes aggressive like they did with the Corvette, it'll be interesting. And a Challenger refresh? One thing's for sure, it's a great time for us car guys!

And I think it would be a huge mistake if Ford went backwards to the same old straight line non creased designs all over again..
As Ford can't wait around for the next gen Camaro and Challenger refresh, as the current Camaro has been outselling the Mustang bad enough as it is now..
IMHO the next Mustang needs to include more aggressive and modern styling in order to boost it's sales and hopefully become the No 1 pony car once again
