What's the 2014 special edition going to be?

Yep.......but it would be nice to see the supercharged 5.8 in something other than a Shelby badged Mustang...........but I guess superchargers aren't really in keeping with the Boss ethos.
I'd happily see it in a '15 SVT badged Mustang though!

I agree but if whatever money that would be invested would probably be passed onto the next generation. For example to set the ecoboost 4 or for a RWD application would be the same for this gen or next gen Mustang. The Ecoboost 3.5 seems to be wildly popular with the F150 I think this would be cheaper to do than say make a naturally aspirated 5.8 because the ecoboost motors already exist. I'm also thinking if Ford can ramp up production on these Ecoboost motors than they can probably become more affordable to make.

Do an na 5.8 with forged internals and tivct call it a 5.8 gts and then lets go hunt down the 6.4 srt 8. It might even give the zl1 a run for its money. Make it available with the base gt interior and make the 18 inch wheels a little wider so they can put something wider than the 50 series tire on it.

There is someone out there building one. I saw an article on it almost a year ago, but I think it was just a stoker with the same 5.0L block but different crank, rods, pistons, and a few little tweaks to the block for clearance.

I just hope that the gt500 is out in the 2014 model year. I remember back in 2005 we had to wait a couple model years. Perhaps there is a gt500 anniversary car too?

Shelby have already announced the 50th Anniversary GT500 and GT350.......both based on the '12MY cars.
(so that's Shelby's 50th anniversary, not the Mustangs)

Whatever the special edition is shouldn't we find out in August? We found ot about the Boss 302 in August of 10. Also I know it is far off but depending on how the new design turns out I might trade my 12 in for a 14 SE. I can't wait to see how Fordplans this one.
This has been a very exciting time to be a Mustang fanatics.

Im really interested in what 2014 will bring. I have a 2003 GT that needs to be replaced and would love to see a Mach 1 or a Bullitt. I don't need a SE mustang that is going to be crazy expensive but a Boss motor would be nice. I also know that the 5.0 was designed to accept direct injection. Maybe we see that with a compression bump to get a clean 450 NA!
