Base radio /double DIN conversion

I am planning to change my basic radio on my 2013 V6 to a Pioneer nav radio (double DIN) with the metra kit 99-5823ch without the touchscreen for the climate control. Can anybody tell what exactly I need to get that done, besides the radio and the metra kit?!

I am doing this as well. You will need 2 more things.

The harness:

The antenna adapter:

You may want this too. Parking break bypass. Make sure its the right one for your radio first.

The first two are crutchfield links, you can find them cheaper on amazon and ebay.

The antenna + harness adapters I already ordered, but I won't need the Bypass cause I am not using my Alpine for videos. The harness is a more basic version without the steering wheel connection.
Additionally I am installing a USB connector into the centre console to make the USB usable.

Where are you going to install the GPS antenna? I've seen installs at the windscreen or on the dash, any idea?

Mine is not a GPS unit. I plan on using my phone through the mirrorlink function. I would think on the windshield up by the review mirror would be the ideal place for signal though.

.... help!

I just installed my Alpine with the Metra 99-5823CH kit and guess what, the Alpine does not work. The Metra kit works great.
Maybe it is because of my adapter, it's a mustang/iso adapter but not the PAC thing. The problem seems to be the missing acc signal and I have no idea how get it done!

Or do I have to get that PAC adapter. Even numeros wiring diagrams didn't help.

Any ideas?

by the way ... it's not the Alpine, had it checked at a local shop

The pac adapter will give you an acc signal. You could also trying running a wire from the fuse box to pic up an acc signal.

I have been thinking about the direkt wire but I guess that could drain the battery eventually. Actually I ordered the pac modul just to be safe!

Finally got everything installed, the difference is like day and night! The sound of the alpine combined with the pioneer speakers is incredible. The radio reception is much better, I receive stations that I didn't get before and all stations are much clearer!
The added nav and bluetooth do the rest, just perfect. And the install with the maestro kit looks great, I'll try to shoot some pics later.

I went with the iDatalink kit with a Kenwood DNX891 and it works well together. The biggest change is how good the speakers sound with the change of the head unit...i have JL's on the back dash, so i'm sure that helps too

Well, I replaced all 4 speakers with pioneers. The install of the rear ones were a pain in the bud ... but it was worth it! The combo works just perfect, a shaker system can't possibly be better...
