I went with the aem. It's washable so you can reuse it. It's by k and n for aem. That gave me some confidence as far as build quality. The best part for me is that it is a dry filter. It doesn't require oil like most other reusable filters. I've had mass air flow filters fail on previous cars with k and n filters.

I would encourage you to go with K&N. It is professed to increase HP. I have one in my 5.0 and a 2004 Jeep GC that I have owned for over 10 years. Jeep has over 120k and still runs great, no oil use. Filter is easy to clean and reuse.

I have actually heard some off-brand air filters breaking the air boxes and/or causing other air flow problems with various cars (Not talking about stangs). Of course, that doesn't mean it will happen to your car, but i'm just putting other peoples experiences out there.

You will be happy with any of these two air filters.

K&N I have them in all of my cars. Ford Racing is a K&N. Just put one in my V6 bought it at Advanced with a coupon and it was cheap. Car runs great. I have a Track key on my 2014 GT and it came with an K&N.

I have a K&N so-called CAI on one of my cars but I think it's a poor choice as a drop-in filter for the Mustangs. In fact, it has been documented that it actually caused a reduction in HP compared to the OE.
Many on other forums have been trying the aFe drop-in PRO DRY S Air Filter.
Here's the K&N vs OE filter test...

Whatever you decide to go with. Do your homework and really do some comparisons from it to the stock intake.
Aside from spending money and dressing up the engine bay and not to mention having to wash filters. It might not be worth it. dropping in a brand new and clean OEM paper filter every 25k to me, is the way to go..... for now

I just read this. let me quote the bottom of the article.
"We ran a total of three back-to-back runs with each filter, with the following results:
Stock Filter
381.8HP 372.2TQ
375.1HP 371.9TQ
376.1HP 369.3TQ
K&N Filter
377.2HP 368.5TQ
373.0HP 363.7TQ
368.0HP 361.7TQ
I believe it’s safe to say that at the very least you will not see a tangible power gain with simply a drop-in filter. However, that’s not really the purpose of that type of filter. It is intended help save you money by being washable and reusable instead of disposable like the stock filter. Whether you’ll own your vehicle long enough recoup the initial investment is a question of usage. If you rack up a lot of miles or drive in dusty conditions a drop-in K&N filter may be worth it for you, but not if you’re looking for more power."
I still don't see how it'll save you money lol. paper drop in filters last a really long time and you don't have to spend any money on detergent consumables haha.

^ k&n filters have proven to increase performance as far as mpg and hp are concerned.
Not sure what happened in the test and why it decreased hp instead of actually being the same or a tiny bit more. Doesn't look right, doesn't sound right.
Maybe they should have ran the dyno with k&n first and stock second. idk, just saying...
