Idle change from oil seperator install
Has anyone noticed an idle change from installing an oil seperator? Not sure if my car has done this before the oil seperator and I'm just paranoid but since the oil seperator it's seems to sometimes slightly drop to about 600-650 rpm from 750 during idle. Is that normal and I'm just being paranoid? I'm not to familiar with the crimp clamps that came with the steeda kit so I may get the screw clamps to make sure everything is tight.

An oil separator should not change the idle. I would make sure the connections are secure. Its possible that you could have a vacuum leak as a result of a leak from a lose connection, though vacuum leaks usually result in a higher idle speed. Though a vacuum leak could also cause a stuble.

Does your idle change occur only after cold start or anytime you come to idle after driving around?

I also took off the compression clamps that came with the kit because I couldn't get those really tight so unsealed them for screw clamps to make sure all the fittings are really tight. It's possible my car has done this before the oil seperator install and I just didn't notice. Does everyone else's idle stay exactly constant?

My idle definitely dips from time to time (especially when it is hot outside). In fact, occasionally when I depress the clutch (in bumper to bumper traffic), the idle will dip far enough to cause the car to stall.
I don't have an oil separator installed. I've also noticed the car will idle about 50-100rpms lower than normal from time to time.

Great idea but I wasn't too happy with the first cuts and placement I made on the hose that was provided so I re cut the stock hose for better fitment of the can. In wish steeda provided the hose pre cut because there is like zero room to mess up with the 2 1/2 cut out of the hose being as the hose barely bends. I went to the dealership to order a stock hose, they said it should be in by noon so I will know then!

I told Steeda the same thing. I think they would sell a lot more if they did. Lucky for us the factory hose is cheap. I did not like the way it looked so I made custom hoses. Now it looks factory.

I guess I was being paranoid because I put the stock hose back on and it still does an occasional 50-100 rpm drop. I'm glad because I really want to keep this seperator on my car.

Thankx it took a while to bend the pipes to get it just right. I had to find a store to get the 90 degree elbows. I am still trying to find aluminum ones.
When does the idel change?

Ok I know I am late. But Guess what. After letting it site I looked at it and mine does the same thing. it goes about 50 to 100 rpm. Not a big deal I think most cars do. Never noticed till you said something.
