Which Gear

Which Gear
Now that I have 2013 GT automatic I am trying to decide which rear gear. I will ordering a MagnaCharger next week. So which would be the better gear, stock 3:15, 3:36, 3:55 or 3:73? Car will be my "play car" so MPG is unimportant. It will see occasional strip use with drag radials. Pretty even split between 1/8 and 1/4 mile. We do have a pretty active "street racer" group south of Birmingham.

Gears are, by definition, a torque multiplier. That Magnacharger will produce a ton of torque anyway, so gearing isn't nearly as important when forced induction is added. I'd suggest leaving the factory 3.15 gears in the car with the Magnacharger. If you end up not supercharging, I personally believe that 4.10 gears work nicely with the 5.0L automatics.

Think I will leave the 3.15 in place for now. I have some 3.36 gears laying around in the man cave somewhere. The 8.8 is pretty easy to swap gears. GB I am not sure how streetable your torque converter is N/A.

Slap the magnacharger on there and then see how traction is and how quickly you go through 1st gear. If everything is fine, you may benefit from 3.36 or 3.55. I wouldn't change the gears and boost it at the same time. Just my 2 cents
