Question 14 Roush Stage 2, stock tune?

I believe that the 2014 Stage 2 cars have a stock Ford tune. Anyone out there have knowledge on this? I would like to be sure before I go changing things.

I have a Stage 2 that is built on a Track Pack car. Now that FR seems to have the bugs worked out on the new Ford Racing Track Key, I am thinking about updating my car. Mine meets the requirements to get the key. Thought it would be nice to be able to flip back and forth, Track/no Track. Since I am not planning on adding a Supercharger I thought this might be fun to have. And to get a few more horseys, you can never have enough. Everyone that has put it on seems to like the change in there car with version 2. Anyone out there have any thoughts on the Track Key Tune? Anyone have regrets? Car currently seems to have lots of go, but always want more...

You're talking STAGE 2, not PHASE 2, correct?
If you mean Stage 2, I do believe it is the stock Ford tune.

Not yet... But maybe some day. So far happy with my N/A car. Just think more HP would always be a good thing.

Stages are only when you consider Roush cars. There are 3 different stages in Roush cars. There's Stage 1, Stage 2 and then Stage 3. Stage levels only matter when you are talking about Roush built cars.
You have the Phase 1 kit. The Phase 2 kit gives you 625/630 HP and the Phase 3 kit gives 675/680 HP.

I have a 2014 stage 3 phase 1 575hp Roush. Thinking about phase 2. Does anyone know if the 2014 5.0 can handle the extra HP with ease? Can I go to a phase 3 without the Aluminator and still be safe? Of course the safety is in the tune, and the phase 1 Roush tune is conservative. Thanks

I have a 2012 Stage 3 with VMP's PHASE 3 kit. I'm sure it's more aggressive than Roush's PHASE 3 kit and it only changes 2 pulleys, intake, colder spark plugs and the tune.

Hey did you guys realize that your cars are like direct opposites? At least your avatars look like alter egos, or old style picture negatives.

I’ve done the Roush phase 1 to phase 2 upgrade in my ‘14 GT automatic. It’s been 100% trouble free in the past 12,000 miles. My application is non-competition, daily driver, grocery getter and I’m limited to 91 octane. Nice upgrade, but the Roush suggested retail is overpriced in my opinion.

Another option is to purchase a SCTX4 hand held tuner and have your current phase 1 re-tuned by an experienced TVS tuner, such as Brenspeed, VMP, etc. The SCTX4 will save your original Roush phase 1 calibration as stock in case you want to use again.

I don’t have any experience with the Roush/VMP phase 3, but it sounds tempting.

I guess it is non-issue to use a handheld tuner. I thought the Roush Tune is locked and cannot be changed without a Brenspeed, or VMP professional dyno tune. My goal is to increase it to a phase 2 but need to have is tuned correctly. Does the phase 2 feel as if the car came alive? Is there more low end torque? Did you have it Dynoed? Sorry about all the questions, this is my first supercharged car. Thanks

No worries. The Roush tune is locked as to making individual file adjustments, but you can save it “as is” with the SCTX4 and re-install it, if you don’t like the aftermarket tunes. You will feel more low end torque and better throttle response with a phase 2, with or without an aftermarket tune. It’s an improvement over the phase 1 with it’s 50 state emissions calibration. I’m currently running a Brenspeed 91 street tune w/SCTX4 in my phase 2 and find the power level and driveability “just right” for my daily driver needs. I have not had mine on the dyno and I’m not sure what your power goals/expectations/budget are, but here is a typical phase 2 dyno example that gets tuned by VMP:
