"i figured you`d have that thing running by now " .. " i figured you`d have that thing running by now " .. . boy do i get tired of hearing that ..Every day two of my neighbors come by and say that. Every day i remind them i`m in no hurry to finish it ..
. this is my " new " toy .. 78 F100 that i`m shoe horning my 429 into .. my last try did not end well as it was too new a vehicle and there were too many electronic things i could`nt fix with my toarch and welder .. i knew this would be nearly a bolt in as i`ve had this same motor in a 71 truck 25 years ago .. the only issue iv`e ran across is the header fitment .. these headers are for the 97 ford truck i tried last year and are quite a bit different .. i had to cut off the second tube and join it to the first one as it ran dirrectly into the steering box .. it was already a 400M engine so the 429 fit right up to the C6 trans .. i already had 429 frame mounts laying around .. as of now i have no intention of painting it .. if i find a job anytime soon i may .. i may smell smoke next week ..

COTTON !!!! more cotton than you can shake a stick at ... i believe this year there is more of the white stuff growing than ever before .. this is just a small sample of what is being ginned near me .. about 90% is still in the fields ..and there are other gins scattered 5 miles about in all directions that are just as busy .. i love hearing the gin running 24 hrs a day but hate it when the wind blows my way ..

as it is with the stang i mostly drive my truck after i`ve had 6 or 8 to many to drink .. tonite i decide to do so .. after about 3 miles from home it quits on me .. total darkness and i cant tell what`s wrong ,, i had just passed some friends house so i figured i could walk to them and get a ride home .. wrong !! .. they were knocked out in bed .. so i head off towards home knowing i can knock off a quick 3 miles walk with no sweat ..in a short bit i hear strange noises from the woods up ahead ..i make noises myself in hopes of scaring what is trying to scare me .. i dont mind the walk and the fear as much as i mind losing the beer buzz iv`e worked on since 8 am this morning ... i`m home now ...

once again i have had some checks stolen and forged on me .. i dont have a clue who this time .. how can a business accept a check when they require a picture ID to verify .. these checks have a drivers license # which means the accepting party asked for ID .. the ID was obviously not me .. in the past i have let these things slide as it would interfere with work .. i dont work now .. someone is in big trouble .. iv`e had enuff of people abusing my kindness ... i can sit in court all day now ....

i built my home with the expectation that i would be able to heat and cool it with little effort .. the cooling part has been easy ..the heating part has not .. my window unit is a heater and an AC unit .. in AC it performs well above requirements .. in heat mode it does not ..i have little plug in heaters everywhere but am still sitting in the cold unless they are right in front of me ..i have thought about using wood but dont like the maintenance idea. i cant find a big enuff electric heater to heat the whole house .. i can easily heat with kerosene but dont like the smell/ the expense and this year the difficulty in finding kerosene .. why is kerosene so expensive and hard to find ? .. this torpedo heater will heat like nothing else but is a bit loud and smelly ...

Be careful those torpedo heaters can be very dangerous. Also smelly if they are kerosene.

I had some funny stuff happen with mine one time. During the summer I'd keep it stored in an out building and just get it out in the winter to bring in the garage. It's an old one, huge one at that, serious industrial type.
I had a dog back then and kept dog food out in the building. Got it out one winter to put in the garage, filled it up, plugged it in and when I did it started rattling, clanging, etc. and chunks of burning **** started blasting out the front of it.
A rat had gotten into the dog food during the winter and packed that whole tube full of it, when I plugged it in all that stuff lit on fire and the fan blasted it all over the garage.
