Changing Mustang Horse on Grill?

How easy is it to change the horse on the mustang grille?

I would like to swap out the chrome for a black air brushed emblem so it looks more like the original GT/CS which did not have the horse on the grille.

Does anyone know if I can actually buy a prepainted black emblem or do I have to have that custom made?

Thanks

I wouls suggest either a air brushed pony or get you one from a dealer or salvage yard and paint it matte/flat black Rob.

Its not easy at all. First you would need to remove about 7 or 8 clips, and to do that you need the hands of an 8 year old to fit in there. Then using two flat head screw drivers pry open one clip, while pushing out the grille.
Then the horsey is held in place by these locking washer things, so you would need to cut the posts off the back of the horse, thus making it useless for future applications except display on your desk.

I like ShowGT's suggestion of just having it painted right on your car. It's not impossible to swap it out, but it will take some work and if youre patient enough you can do it.

The flat black sounds like a good idea to me!

*Edit*

Thanks Rob! Wow, that's quite a bit of work.

Look up Antigini... =)

I think I might paint it on the car then.

Thanks for the advice.
