Yes, an oil question thread: Amsoil vs Motul???
I know how much you all LOVE oil threads, so I thought I'd ask this one to stir some stuff up 
Kidding... I really just wanted to know, what's the story/history on Motul, and for those of you that know of it/have used it, what do you like about it?
As you know, I'm an Amsoil fan. I understand that the brand/kind of oil doesn't really matter as much, but more so actually changing the oil and performing proper maintenance that REALLY matters. I've used Amsoil on Marilyn since day 1, particularly, 350 miles into owning her. I also used Amsoil on my 370Z and G before that. I have recently started using their XL series for my Acura and Toyota dailies as well.
So again, my question is, what's the main differences between Amsoil and Motul, and why would one choose one over the other? I have a couple buddies with STI's, and they swear by it, and claim it's more a European thing, and Porsche uses it... perhaps better for a boxer engine??? hmmm Would our mustangs benefit more from Amsoil or Motul?

On topic though, I've been doing some reading, and there's multiple flame wars going on throughout the years, that Motul and Amsoil are the 2 top. Motul being more widely used in Europe/Euro cars, and Amsoil more for the US...both equally great, with not one over the other.
I need to continue reading...
anyone else have any opinions?

I say try Motul out and see if your car likes it. I doubt you are going to see any difference over the Amsoil that you currently use.
I use the lowly Motorcraft in mine and have since day one and the car doesn't use any oil, have any weird engine noises, and the oil stays clean. Also looking down the oil fill cap, everything is spotless. I'm happy with that.

Motul doesn't even make a 5w-20 motor oil. I did use Motul in my WRX in the rear differential and transmission. I couldn't really notice a difference. My vote goes to Amsoil due to it being cheaper, more options, and better availability.

Motul Oil Specific 948B
Motul Specific 948B is by far a superior oil to AMS oil for the mustang
I have personally used both products and there is no comparison 100% motul provides high level of wear resistance, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance. It reduces the formation of deposits, reduces wear and enables perfect control of oil consumption.
if you guys do some research you will find that oil regulation in the US is very loose while in Europe it is much more regulated for quality so by law a synthetic oil is considered synthetic if it contains more than 15% synthetic while In Europe that number is a lot higher I believe around 45%
motul synthetic products use 100% synthetic oils compared to AMS oil were the exact number well reads between the lines FULL SYNTHETIC (15%or more.)
ONCE YOU GO MOTUL YOU NEVER GO BACK that’s for sure
