Whats Actually Leather on the Premium Models?
Does anyone know the answer to the title? I was cleaning and conditioning the inside of my car today. I was wondering which parts of the seats are actually real leather and not vinyl. I cannot tell the difference at all.

I use leather conditioner on the seats only. The steering wheel and shift boot are probably leather also. But I only condition the seats. Everything else I use a product called TKO. It is a detail product we use at the Dealer I work for. It is probably similar to any Armor All type product. Just gives everything a light shine.

I believe only the perforated part on the front seats is leather. I read in article that they advertise leather seating as this part of the seat.

I think every part of the front and rear seats that your back or butt comes in contact with is the real deal (except for the CS seat inserts which is a very attractive design IMO). I believe the headrests are all leather as well. Also, the steering wheel and door trim panel inserts appear to be real leather.
I have the 401A so the center seat stripes are leather also.
I've heard some gripes about the quality of the materials, but I think Ford did a good job with the level of the leather and stitching. I really like my interior.

I don't have an electric garage opener, so that's my garage key. When I get home I don't have to shut off the car to access the key off my ring in order to open the door.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering because I was using Meguiars M40 on the vinyl and plastic and wanted to try it on the leather. But then I got to thinking which parts of my seat are actually leather and had no idea.

More vinyl than leather, oh and there is the cloth on the insides of the front seats. The fact that they refer to this as "premium" is rather insulting. I also have the upgraded 401A interior. On my 2012 GT premium vert, headrests are definitely vinyl. The overall interior looks very good though despite the corner cutting.

I had an '07 GT Premium. I was cutting flowers with shears and then sat down in the car forgetting they were in my back pocket. They put a small hole in the outer part of the seat and it sure seemed like leather to me. But then again, its an '07.
