What not to do

You just received your brand new 2012 GT! After gingerly driving it around and showing it to friends, you decide to open it up and see what it can do.
This was 8 hrs old!
Approximately 82 mph in a curve

Dang that's awful! I hope the driver and passenger are ok...
By the way that's not a GT500, it's a 2012 GT/CS
It was 8 hours old and had exhaust on it already?? Something was up. Don't need to ask if it's totaled or not.....

I didn't think it was a 500. Driver went for evaluation but was fine with bumps and bruises. There was no passenger - thankfully. You can see the car was almost split in two by the tree, if there was a passenger, there would be a sheet over that side or I couldn't post it.

Hmmm... glad they are okay, but so many questions; Out drove the car? suprise conditions? Didn't know how to drive? Mechanical failure?
I'd love to hear the whole story.
Isn't that everybody who is having some fun(euphemistically) and wrecks thier car?

I've seen a grandfather oak tree hundreds of years old total a dump truck and lose a little bark - but I can't believe that little thing stood it's ground! From the pics it looks like there is only one tree in the entire field - and someone managed to find it being stupid. Congratulations.
Mike, is there more to the story you could share?
It seems there is a post about a new owner totaling their new Mustang every other week. Perhaps a new PSA thread might be a good idea - collect all the stories and pics and put them in a safety/common sense sticky. There could have been a family enjoying the day under that tree and this would be a terribly tragically different story.

No. I have fun in my Mustang every day - without doing stupid crap like that, and it's still in one piece. This guy was on a surface street, doing 80+. In my eyes, that requires a whole other level of stupid.
