Is the tune locked or can you use the tuner to adjust the shift firmness? My old SCT 3 tuner allowed me to adjust the firmness up or down in increments (5% or so, if I recall). Firming it up might help.

My ProCharger tune on my SCT 4 is locked and I cannot adjust anything. I assume this is to keep the user from adversely affecting timing and destroying the engine under boost.

I have the 5-6 flare with a stock tune. It has been doing it for about 2.5 years now, 2014 5.0. I have never had a tune on the car, bought it brand new. It is really annoying. The service tech said he could not get the car to duplicate the shift so there is nothing they can do. They also advised they did not currently have a transmission guy.

Before I added FI, I experimented with the flare issue. I found that if I did a PCM learned memory wipe by pulling the battery for a few minutes, the flare went away. I also found that more aggressive driving would get rid of it for a while. It seems if you drive it gently for a while, the PCM seemed to cause the flare on the 5-6 upshift.

Its easy to replicate the flare, just lightly feather the throttle(10% or lower) during 42mph 5-6 upshift. Thats why they cant duplicate the flare because no one feathers the throttle. Mine is a 13 gt auto and have this flare for almost 4 years now. What i do to prevent this is put shifter in sport in city driving or slow traffic, the only time i put it in D is when im on highway or low city traffic. Theres a member on here who had it fixed by replacing a 5-6 shift solenoid, im not sure what caused the flares but seems like stock tune issue since it only happens with super light throttle, never had it flare on me anything above it.

What was in the tune that was fixed this flare?

I don't know what ProCharger did in their canned tune as far as shifting. I can tell they altered the parameters for traction control because I can spin the tires a lot with the system still on. I never looked into in any further because I had it checked on the dyno to see if the tune was safe, and the A/F ratio, timing, and boost levels were just where they needed to be from an engine longevity standpoint.

Wheres your rpm with light throttle with procharger installed? Im not sure but maybe it has something to do with it, if i remember correctly with stock engine flare happens with rpm around 1500-1800.

Im also in the market for a supercharger soon maybe sometime in 2017. Got my eye on the roush supercharger for a while now and whiteline watts link, gonna get them both at the same time.

You'll love having boost. I don't really remember the exact conditions of the flare (RPM/throttle position), but driving it in the same manner now results in no flare.

I dont see any suspension mods besides the driveshaft, how well are you putting power down with stock suspension?

I'm not really having any issues, but I tend to roll onto the throttle versus just stomping it to the floor. I also think the auto absorbs some of the shock that would cause axle hop, but I'm not sure. If I stomp it, it roasts the tires.
