To those with 3.73 gears...

What kinds of sounds so you hear with these in the very low (500-1500) and higher up (3500+) RPMs. I hear an almost rattle like noise that is coming from the rear when I go to take off in 1st in a low RPM(differential?). And higher up I hear a grinding noise around 3600 that is around the transmission area (clutch?) also, when I go to accelerate fairly hard, the car feels as it is almost bouncing back and fourth during acceleration sometimes (clutch slipping with 50K on stock one?). Please give me your input on my symptoms and any you might have as well. I want to know if it's normal or needs to be taken in. Thanks!

after my second service at 10,000 miles i began to hear a whine although i think it may be coming from the engine..sounds like a high pitched whirring becoming low pitched as i slow down...

I've never heard anything from my 3.73 differential (knock on wood). I have heard a slight high whining from the MT-82 tranny, which I imagine are the sync gears, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I eventually plan to install the GT500 rear brakes (with their larger discs), which will involve draining and replacing the diff fluid. Hopefully, I don't induce any noises in the process!

Honestly, no. That sounds abnormal. The only sound I hear is the torsen diff, I've been told. Its sounds like a dyno wheel as soon as the peak is complete on the whine down.

I've had a gear whine on my GT TP from delivery. It was very noiceable at first, and after a few hundred miles 70% of it went away. What's been left is a very quiet, fast w-r-r-r-r-r-r every time the car is between 62 and 70mph. Regardless if I'm in 6th, 5th, or neutral. That's how I know it's gear whine. Speed dependent, not transmission gear or engine speed dependent.

Your issue doesn't sound good though. You should have your dealer look into it.

I had a slight whine with my 2013 GT MT when I bought it used from a dealer with 12,000 miles on it and by 15,000 it was quite noticeable. I had the dealer check it out and sure enough it needed a rebuild. All internal rear end parts were replaced according to the work order and it is perfect now. And yes I have 3:73's
