RTR wheels no more? Best alternative?

It seems that these wheels are out of stock everywhere, except for a few places that seem to have the silver ones...(which don't look right to me).

There are several clones out there but none of them seem to match the wide offset and deep spoke look that the original RTR wheels have...

What's the closest match to the original '11-'14 RTR wheel?

Well that sucks as I was going to pick up a spare wheel for my RTR setup. Might try Ebay.

SVE Drifts are the closest and only alternative I would do.

It seems that you're right about this...but isn't the offset more shallow than the RTRs? That's the biggest factor that seems to make the RTR wheels look so good (In my own opinion).

The SVEs are +35, RTRs are +33. I just did all this research last week when I was looking at wheels to replace my stock ones with. You'll see what I went with next weekend!

But yeah, 2mm is negligible, but it does tuck the wheels in just a little bit. Some people complained the RTRs extended past the fender just a hair. The SVEs are perfectly flush. I love the Dark Stainless finish too! The black ones are a screaming deal at $660 shipped though!

Take a look at VMR wheels, they were the company who made the wheels for RTR. Let us know if we can help you guys out on these as we just picked them up. They have a few designs that are available for the S197 platform.

http://vmrwheels.com/

Also take a look at www.avantgardewheels.com at their M310's which come in a 40mm offset vice a 33mm offset.

Both wheels can be had for around the price or less than the cost of RTRs.

Thanks, Jay.
It looks like the V710 may be the same wheel?? It is available in 19x9.5 with the 5x114.3mm bolt pattern...but is the offset the same as the RTRs?

Some folks think the RTRs had too much offset but I thought they looked the best because of the offset.

If so, can you get these? If so, what's the cost?

EDIT: It looks like they're V718s possibly...

Is that the official size you are looking for in post 11? I saw you were having another conversation about the other wheels & didn't want to intrude on that conversation.

The Steeda ST-R Mesh Wheels coming the following sizes:

Wheel Height 20" Wheel Width 9.5" ...

Wheel Height 20" Wheel Width 11"

With the following Bolt Pattern - 5 x 114.3 mm

If the official request is 19 x 9.5 then we don't have that size ... but we have the alternatives & other wheels you could browse.

Best Regards,

TJ

Thanks, TJ.
The Steeda wheels do look great. I'm not ready to step up to "dubs" on my Muscle Car but I may just be old fashioned. Those are certainly a possibility.

Nocturnal,

Are these the 10"-wide ones in the front too?

I'm looking for a 19/20 staggered set-up for my Brembo car ... but not gonna go to an 8.5"-wide wheel ... I wanna run 275/40/19's in the front ...

I'm thinking about getting the 20x10" version of my new wheels for the rears, run those in summer time...

They only offer the fronts in a 8.5" width. The 10" is "Rear only" it says...

For what it's worth, I bought the 19x10 versions of the GT500 replicas for all four corners even though the 10" wide versions are described as "Rear Only" on their site. I did some chatting with AM online before placing my order and to summarize, they said they list the 10" wide rims as rear only because with a rim that size, people are more likely to run a wide tire and that could result in rubbing up front. (He never gave me an example of what he/they considered "wide".) For that reason, they don't want to be liable in the event there's a problem or anything so they labeled them as rear only.

I told him that initially, I'd be transferring my stock 255/40R19's over to the new rims and eventually I'd like to go with a 275/40 or 285/35. He said I'd "probably" be ok with either of those sizes but couldn't officially say it would fit with no issue. I've had my wheels with my stock tires on for almost 2 months now with no issues, but I will say they BARELY fit over the Brembos in the front.

Yesterday, I ordered some 275/40 Hankooks that should be getting installed either today or tomorrow. The searches I've done on here suggest that size should fit with no issue. I guess I'll find out for sure soon.
