So... the following link is to a car listing showing a Boss with the sides stripes done like how I was wanting to do...
After seeing it, I'm a little iffy now...

Why not find a vinyl color that is very close to the color of the car and replace the stripes with it so it is "ghosted" like the flat black stripes on a black car?!? There has to be a vinyl that is close to the KB... Slightly darker blue Boss stripes on your KB would look SICK IMO?!?

I'm starting to think I'll just leave them now. After seeing those other two mustangs... There just needs to be more... pop on the sides. Now if the stripes were gone, I think it'd look great with machine finished wheels and bright red calipers but since those things aren't happening soon, I think the stripes will stay for a bit longer.
I do appreciate everyone's input though!

My vote is to keep them, they "make" your car. I would much rather find an unmolested 2012 in 20 years than one "restored" to original. These are cool and unique cars, as history shows with 69 and 70 values those in original shape were much coveted and worth more. BUT, everyone in the 70's felt the same way, it's my car and they personalized away until little was left of the original car. These cars are automotive landmarks, every part I take off mine is boxed and improvements are minor, shifter and exhaust plates, that's it. Being a young fellow of 58 I saw these beauties come and go, I remember the lessons taught in the '70's. I find it is GREAT to have a second chance with my own BOSS. BTW, the 69 and 70 cars were JUST as stunning on the road as ours when new, and sure sounded badazz to boot!
