Recall, 2011 V6 throttle body

I just got a recall letter from Ford Motor Company. It says they will replace the throttle body on my 2011 V6 for free of charge. I have read people with problems with their throttle body's on Mustang Forums. If you have 'paid' to have your throttle body replaced, the letter says if your repair falls within a certain date you could be reimbursed by checking with your Ford dealer.

Thought I would let you all know

Ford isn't calling this a 'recall' for some reason. They are calling it, Customer Satisfaction Program 16B23. I guess you can call your Ford dealer to see if your V6 Mustang is on the list

Thanks for posting that, David Young.

Just getting my Mustang in for a service, so I checked out the Ford owner website this morning and nothing. I just checked it now, to update my mileage and it said my car is on the list.

I do have an occasional stumble - hopefully this cures it!

Great. I called my service person on Monday and he had to order me a throttle body, told me to call in a couple days to see if it has come in. It might be in today. I hope this isn't going to be like the air bag inflator and have to wait for months for the part to come in . I'll know for sure later today when I call

My GF got the 16B23 letter for her 2011 Edge.
Have had no issues, but if Ford wants to replace the TB @ no cost, it's OK with me..

Part came in yesterday and they replaced my throttle body today, took around 30 minutes . They didn't say anything about my tune, long tube headers and my CAI, just if anyone is wondering

I had to get it done on my 11 Edge this summer for $700 plus dollars. I took the recall to my dealer, and they did it again free of charge, and refunded my money from the first time.

I (we bought for my wife) have a 14 Edge. Its not on the list, so far. I think its for 2011 and 2012 Ford v6's, 3.5 and the 3.7. WOW!!! $700+ for a $64 part . I remove and clean the throttle body every 2 years just for fun
