Octane booster, has anyone used it?
I have a 2011 Gt with a auto transmission. I was wondering if any body has used it and if it really works. Will it help me increase my 0-60 time? I understand it really just made for cars that can "use" it. Knows what to do with the extra power. So can my car "use" this extra power? Thanks

It's cheaper to just run higher octane gas. It's unlikely your engine will make use of anything above 93 anyways.
Also, most octane boosters only give you a very small boost in octane. Some actually give you a full point (i.e. bump you from 87 to 88 octane) whereas many only give you a small fraction of that.
It's also worth noting that the increase in octane, even if your engine does make use of it, will not offer a significant increase in power.
Only time I've ever used it was when I tuned my vehicle, and still had half a tank of 91 in it and needed 93.

I feel that they are useful if they also contain a fuel system or fuel injector cleaner. I mostly keep one on hand during road trips in case I get a crappy tank of gas from an unscrupulous station. Even if it just helps a little bit, it can be worth it. I like this one product but there are others too that claim to both boost and clean.

Yes, and have logged a few of them. Generally your wally world and parts store brands are only good for 1-3 numbers. If your not tuned stick with high quality premium pump. Torco and VP Octanium can make easy 100 octane plus out of 10 gallons of 93. These are not cheap.

Asked our BG rep this question awhile back. I knew he would understand the chemistry better behind it. Which he went way in depth on... Unnecessarily deep... But more or less you are better off to add some higher octane fuel than use any off the shelf octane booster. There was more to it... But my eyes started glazing over after awhile.

There are a couple of boosters out there that actually add real amounts of Octane, but they tend to be expensive. Anything cheap and readily available just doesn't work, end of story. Those barely increase Octane and are basically a waste of money. Might as well just stuff a 20 into the tank and see what happens.

I run torco as several other boosted mustangs run and it works and gives you a piece of mind when going wot.
Just search it on svt and you will see majority of good stuff about it.
I got a tank of cheap gas and added half can and my kr went from +1.4 to -2 so it helps.
