So thats how this forum works, if you do not have a definitive yes or no answer, do not reply at all or offer a suggestion on where to find all the information you need. Got it!! But you seemed to have broken your own rule since you did not know the answer either but made an assumption that because your 2011 had MYkey, the 2012 should. Would it be safe to assume that since my 2014 is a GT/CS that it was also available in 2015?
The problem with email, texts, forums etc, is that someones tone of voice can not be heard, in my original post, I in no way intended to be sarcastic, I just figured the person who asked the question was unaware that the owners manual contained detailed information on Mykey.

The dealer cannot do anything? Bull! I would be tempted to drop the car off, and tell them to void the sale unless they can return the vehicle to a state in which it is fully functioning, which is what you contracted to purchase. Texas has a "Deceptive Trade Practices" act which I believe would apply (if you were in TX... I do not know if RI has similar laws, but many states do.)
Seriously, I would call the GM of the dealership, and tell them you are dropping off the car, and you will be contacting the local news to see if they want to meet you at the dealership and cover the story.

It would seem as though the dealer would have some responsibility to have the vehicle in its "normal" state when sold... It's not like you thought it had satellite radio and it ended up not having it or something...

That's an excellent point. Since the dealership sold a car programmed by MyKey, it seems you should have some recourse or compensation.
If it's a ford dealership, then I think they would cover the labor costs (at a minimum) and only charge for the new key. If this is the case, definitely escalate this situation with Ford Service and see if they can help.
