GT500 Axle back exhaust for V6

I've been considering options for mods on my 2014 mustang V6. I know one thing I want to do eventually is get an axle back system for the car but I'm not sure which one yet. I've heard good things about the GT500 AB but I can only find the quad tip version with the modified lower valence for a V6. I can find a GT500 AB with just dual tips for a GT. Do they make the dual tip version for V6's? It's much cheaper and would be the option I desire more in terms of fiscal requirments for an exhaust. The quad tip looks awesome but costs a little more than I want to pay.

Also, any other suggestions on axle back exhausts for a V6? I want to give the car a little bit better of a sound but I don't want it to be too loud and obnoxious. Any advice can help!

Thanks in advance!

Any GT500 muffler install on a V6 will require cutting the pipe where it hooks to the over axle pipe and welding it to the GT500 muffler to make it work since they are two different sizes.

Been done many times, any competent muffler shop can do it.

An OEM muffler is worth no performance gain

I would caution against going with the GT500 AB. Have you heard it on a V6 before? I would think it wouldn't give a desired tone/sound like it would for the GTs.

I'm thinking you will need a rear diffuser as well. Kind of a pricey choice imo, there are quite a few nice sounding systems out there already at way better prices.

No axle back exhaust is worth anything but a sound change and maybe a weight change,

11-12 GT500 mufflers sound decent on a V6, 13-14 doesn't even sound like much on a GT, let alone a V6.

Only need a GT500 diffuser if going with the 13-14 GT500 quad tips.

Can't speak for the 2014 GT500 mufflers on a V6, but a set of 2011 GT500's on my 2011 V6 sound awsome. I will go on record to say that if you want loud, or "attention" getting exhaust sound, then the GT500's are not what you are after. If you want a pleasent idle rumble, and a right foot to the floor sound, or a pleasent cruise sound (where you can hear the radio tunes), then the GT500's are a good choice. I paid 200 bucks for mine (used) from a member here, and very happy with them. They did require the axle back tubes off of my stock mufflers to be welded onto the GT500's, which set me back another 80 bucks, but that included the install (required to get the correct alignment of the pipe weld). So for 280 bucks, I got a great sounding set of axlebacks.

Again, there are many exhaust choices. It's up to the "ear" of the purchaser as to what they want.

And it allows me to sing along to my favorite 60's and 70's tunes with the Sirus stations. This has made my wife offer to buy a set of the Roush axle backs to drown me out!
