It's never gonna end!!!

Well we got another problem !!! It just never ends. We got it on the dyno to custom tune and we finally got some numbers. The car made 722 RWHP which calculated to 850 HP at the engine at 15lb of boost !!! The problem is that after 5500 rpm , the car goes too lean and even raising the voltage to the max on the pump, it was not giving it enough fuel. Only to find out my fuel pump , can not support that much hoarse power. Apparently, The upgraded 10 rib pulley kit I got with supercharger is creating that extra HP. If I stayed with the 6 rib it came with, there would have been no problem. Now we have to change the pump !!! So were looking at the GT500 double pump that will support more HP and a booster pump, so I can give it the enough fuel it needs to make the HP the supercharger wants to make. Meanwhile, I can take the car home and wait for the pump to come into the installer, but I have to baby it until we get the correct pumps installed !!!! But when it's finally done , it's gonna be more than what I expected it to be !!!! Tune in next week as the saga continues !!!

That thing will be a rocket when you get the pumps installed.

Yeah,...after a certain size pulley, (79mm or smaller pulley, you need/should use new injectors and for 75mm or smaller pulley, you need/should use a BAP.) I may have missed it, but what are your supporting engine modifications? What did you do to the bottom end and your internals?
15lbs. of boost is awesome. Good luck! Keep us posted.

As far as I know, I cant find anyone who
makes a return-less style pump for my car to support that kind of power , it looks like I am going to go to a return style pump. Then there plenty in that style to support the kind of power I am making.

You're a brave man. I don't mean to be a downer but I'd be nervous with a 5.0 with a stock bottom end grenading with anything over 625 rwhp. A guy out this way had his 5.0 fly apart with 680 rwhp and a "safe" tune. Meth injection isn't going to stop a rod from letting go. Good luck and start saving for a built shortblock if you plan on hammering on it often.

Listen, I know it's way over for that motor !!! Hammering it is not why I built it. I do see myself taking it too the track once or twice a year, spring/fall, a couple of passes each visit to get some times that it !!! I think it can handle that much !!! Otherwise, a few shows is where I will take it most. But thank for the advise anyway.

WOW!! that's INSANE I SAY!! INSAAAAAYYYNNNNNE!

If it were me i'd be so scared jumping on it for any length of time, but at least you've got some cool numbers and ALOT to talk about at the shows

I hope it lasts a long time for you and you don't end up blowing a rod or ending up in the ditch. Hope you can handle that power from behind the wheel. Take some sport driver training

Also, what brakes are you running? Make sure you can stop that beast!

CONGRATS!

Congrats for sure! Here I am, a happy camper with my V6 stock motor pumping out 305HP running 87octane fuel. can't imagine what it'd be like to push 3,700lbs of metal down the road with 750+ HP to push it.

Yeah, sweet build! Looks really sharp and great numbers!

Congrats and be careful, I'd also worry about something letting go with that much power.

How high are you running your motor RPM?

I have done up to 6000-6200rpm. I think it would be foolish to redline it !!! And the rpm I mentioned, so far were only on the dyno. I expect to take it to the track and get some times and again bring it only to 6200 rpm there.

Man lay off the (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Also all it takes is once pass, to bend a rod, you are flirting with disaster. The power is addicting, but gotta learn the limits of the motor before its too late.

I didn't catch it did you get the oil pump gears replaced with billet ones. If not I don't give your motor a year. But hey welcome to the dark side.

^^NICE!!!
There ya go Rick! Should be beastly. I assume you're keeping the Whipple and slapping it on there because of the blower cams? Going to up the boost a little?
