Drivers side windshield

A while back, I posted about the drivers side windshield wiper skipping at its left side vertical position; as it swipes down (left to right), it is fine, but as it swipes back (right to left) it skips at the last 3 to 4 inches.

I have scrubbed the outer glass clean; I used a cleaner made by Mothers specifically for cleaning glass (water spots, etc). I have tried three different types of blades, starting with the stock Ford, a set of rain-X, and now a set made by Michelin. I tried a set from my buddy's Mustang that do not skip on his, but they skip in the same position described above on mine.

This is driving me nuts. Anyone else with this problem? Short of taking a hammer and busting the glass to get it replaced (Florida insurance has a no-deductable front glass replacement policy), I am clueless on how to resolve this.

Well, if that ain't a mystery. Maybe clean the windshield with some type of solvent. Could it have gotten the least little bit of some type of overspray on it? Or maybe it needs a new wiper arm assembly. I'm just thinking out loud here Bucko. Good luck, I know how annoying that can be.

Try taking your Wiper Arm off your car and install on your friends car. If it skips on his then you know it is a bent arm.

I've had problems with this on Mom's '01 Grand Marquis. I got agravated and bought a jug of Dirtex, which is a strong ammoniated glass cleaner. In my situation, my problem turned out to be stubborn automatic car wash waxes and coatings. After a couple of thorough cleanings with Dirtex, the windshield was perfectly clean and my blade skipping problem went away. I use Dirtex after every car wash now. I also switched from conventional Anco to flexible Bosch Marathon blades, which resemble the blades on my '14 GT. I like 'em a lot, although they are a little pricey.

The driver's wiper on my '12 GT would bounce about 6" from the bottom of the swing. Used to make me crazy. Fortunately (I guess) it only rained maybe 5 times in the year I had it.
