Convertible top care

Convertible top care
I have a 13 GT/CS Vert. Long story but convertible top blew off and was replaced by Ford about a year ago.
I don't remember this happening on the old top but the new top collects cottonwood like a tree. Water doesn't take it all off and a lint roller is slow.
Is there anything to treat the top with that will help with this. Is it possible the new top wasn't treated like they might do at the factory?
Thanks

It should come treated, but you need to do it at least every year. I tried Raggtop and 303. I found that the 303 canvas protectant works best. Also buy the 303 canvas cleaner, and a convertible top brush. Every time I clean the car, I clean the top with the cleaner and the brush. I use the protectant every 6 months. Not sure if that is the answer to your cottonwood problem though.

I have a 94 convertible GT, just installed a new top myself. I read a lot on info online on the care of the VINYL TOP, Raggtopp seems to be the front runner on VINYL top Protectants. Two questions; Where in Los Angeles can I buy RaggTopp at a standing store? (I only can find it online). What do you recommend for Vinyl top care of both the vinyl and the stitching (which seems to go first), where do I pick it up?

I don't treat my cloth top, but when cleaning it I use Woolite spray foam carpet cleaner and a medium bristled brush, same as I do on the carpet. Let the foam evaporate and lightly scrub the material. All the crap that's trapped in the cloth fibers should lift right out and can be wiped down with a damp rag.

Thanks for the reply, however, the answer you sent had to do with a CLOTH top, mine is VINYL. I bit the bullitt (Bullitt Mustang, ha ha) and drove out to Chastworth (California Car Cover) and purchased RaggTopp Vinyl Protectant. I applied it and am hoping for good results. The reviews I read were fantastic.again, hoping for the best, and thank you for the quick response.

I've used Raggtop vinyl protectant in the past and really liked it. I have their cloth top kit but haven't used it yet. I will on the final detail before she goes to sleep for the winter.
