Anyone else sick of black wheels?

I saw a Grabber Blue 13-14 GT at the bank today. It had black wheels. I looked at and looked at it and tried to tell myself it looked good. It didn't it looked like total sh*t. All I could think of was it's like taking grandma's Buick for a spin and popping off the hub caps to make it look like Johnny Dirtbag NASCAR racer. I'm ready for the black wheel fad to be over. What's the deal, does black wheels make you an automotive bad *** or gangster?

Black wheels look like crap.

I'm tired of seeing stock wheels and stock suspension on mustangs. That's pretty played out. 90% of mustangs I see are bone stock. At least the guy is making an effort to make his car stand out. I'm not a huge fan of black wheels but definitely lookbetter than the stock 17s or 18s .

While not a personal fan of black wheels, I've seen some that look good- and to each their own. My 20 year old son and his friends love black wheels, while my 73 year old dad thinks chrome is where its at.

I guess I'm in the middle- I like grey or alloys myself (I like the Track Pack wheels my '14 came with, and run some grey and alloy wheels that look like Torque Thrusts on my '65).

Black wheels have run their course. I took mine off because I was tired of the black wheel look and went with brushed aluminum. But in all honesty, I'd rather see black than some of the hideous colors people have been putting on wheels lately.

I'm still sick of chrome and polished aluminum. Seriously. To each his own. I saw a 2013 grabber blue 5.0 with black wheels this week and thought to myself, **** those look good.

But he also had black 5.0 badges, black tinted windows, and black exhaust tips. It looked sexy.

I could go either chrome or black depending on the individual car. I think black wheels go well with black stripes or even white stripes, depending on the car and it's theme.
I decided to get chrome on my next set. A bit more wow factor imho.

I've got a 14 grabber blue with the aluminum wheels, but I blacked out my badges, grill, side marker lights and painted my exhaust black. No window tint. But it looks great with the wheels stock or black.

Wouldn't be horrible if everyone liked the same thing? I personally hate chrome wheels. Someone thought this looked good.....

Yup, I think it hit me this spring when the car shows started up. It still work for that complete black look, but that's getting old too. I like color and seeing beautiful paint. Also, I sick of seeing slammed cars. Especially the ones that are all cambered out, like the IRS is shot lol. You gotta go with what you like and not what other peeps like, but still wish the trends would change lol.

Where I'm at, you rarely see a stock setup. I'm the only one I know personally with a Mustang who still has my stock suspension. I wouldn't mind dropping it a little, like an inch, but I want to do it all at once; spring, shocks/struts, etc. It's not high on my list because of that I suppose. Not sure which age group started slamming cars, but I know it wasn't mine lol.

Black wheels have 'grown' on me some. I still like brushed and polished aluminum wheels the most

I pretty much have the same mind-set. My Boss 302S wheels on my black GT 'vert are machined aluminum and black. I prefer at least a little shine on wheels. I like mine a lot, but I am planning on a set of all machined aluminum Shelby CS40's down the road.

But it boils down to individual taste. And it's the owner's car and money, so he/she is entitled to do whatever they want.

I think it looks good on some colors, but no on others.

I like black wheels on DIB, Black, and White cars. But on my SGM I don't like black wheels.

Eventually good taste will win out. Black wheels will go the way of spinners and 13" gold roller skate wheels. There is a Camaro at my office... all black with black wheels that looks like crap because the wheels look exactly like the "styled steel" wheels they used to have in the '80s. It's almost like he paid extra to make his car look like it should be sitting in knee-high grass in front of a mobile home.

Even worse, there is a C6 Corvette at the offices next door that has been painted matte red. If it wasn't so evenly faded looking, you'd swear it had just been left out in the sun too much. Why take a nice car and deliberately make it look like you don't care enough to even wash or wax it once in a while?
