The 2014 is a fastback. Period. Roofline and trunk are just like the '65-6 fastback models, which EVERYONE calls fastbacks.
The 2015 is also a fastback. Roofline and trunk are just like the '67-68 fastback models, which EVERYONE calls fastbacks.

Not exactly. The traditional definition of coupe vs sedan was whether the car had a B pillar and/or a frame around the front door windows... sedans had a window frame and B pillar, coupes did not. But the Society of Automotive Engineers has standardized the definitions based solely on interior volume. A vehicle with less than 33 cubic feet of interior volume is a coupe, 33 cu-ft or more is a sedan. The number of doors has no bearing. A Cadillac Coupe de Ville is actually a sedan because of its size despite having only two doors. And a 4-door Prius is a coupe because of its small interior volume.

If I got married in 2000, my 50th anniversary would be in 2050. 'Simple math.'
The 50th anniversary of the 1965 MODEL YEAR is the 2015 model year. There was no 1964 model year for the Mustang, just a hobbiest designation years later of 1964-1/2. Ford introduced 'the 1965 Mustang' in April, 1964. Simple History.
The on-fours and on-nines anniversary editions like the 35th and 40th editions were the 'wrong' ones. It's also nice to see the Mustang back on a traditional model year schedule that doesn't end in March of the corresponding calendar year:
