I owned a middle '89 LX 5.0L that was built in January '89 (I bought it new in March 1989), so I studied the running changes for '89 quite a bit.
Good info I knew only part of the 89's had them just not which ones thanks for the info

I went through the '14 order guides and didn't find anything about the SGM exterior being able to come with the Brick Red interior. Is it safe to assume that the '14s still won't come with this option like the '13s?

I'm pretty sure I read that it was back on the options list, in the order guide. Lemme look again...

I'm still looking forward to seeing the appearance package, although I feel I'll be disappointed. Guess we'll have to wait for Detroit.

You're in luck! Brick Red Leather with Cashmere Accent Stripe is available with the following six 2014 colors on GT 401A's....
  • Sterling Grey
  • Ingot Silver
  • Black
  • Oxford White
  • Deep Impact Blue
  • Race Red

Premium V6 200A, Pony Package 202A, and MCA Edition 203A: No changes that I can find.

Premium V6 201A: Hood Stripe, option code 471.

Base GT 300A & 301A: New option called "GT Appearance Package," option code 542.

Premium GT 400A & 401A: No changes that I can find.

GT/CS 402A: Colors limited to Deep Impact Blue, Race Red, Black, Sterling Gray, Ingot Silver, and Oxford White.

Boss 302 500A & Laguna Seca 501A: Missing, so it appears to be true that the Boss 302 was a 2 year run only ('12 & '13).

Shelby GT500: Matte Black stripes replaced by Gloss Black stripes.

That's it for now, but I'm sure we'll get more info in the next few months. Ford shows the 2014 Order Banks opening on November 12, 2012 with 2014 scheduling to start on December 6, 2012. 2013 Mustang production ends on January 11, 2013 with 2014 production to begin shortly thereafter.
Brian,

You seem to have a lot of knowledge, not sure where you get it from (are you a dealer, Ford rep, Ford Corp, etc?)
BUT, I received information from a reliable source that Ford actually started production of the 2014's already and will not begin shipping until 2013. Can you confirm this information?
I'm thinking 2014's are rolling out earlier than originally planned in order for the re-tooling and early entry of the 2015's.

So i'm curious. My dealer said if I order a 2014 now then I get to lock in the rebates that are currently available for the 2013s. Is that true or are they clueless?

I have seen window stickers on 2013 Mustangs that are being produced in 2013 so No 2014's being made yet. They are being scheduled though.

According to my salesman, no. But there should be at least $500 available according to my salesman. But no promises.

Ford allows you to look in rebates at the time of order, but only those rebates available for the same model year. Therefor, there are no 2014 rebates to lock in (yet).
